Meet the New Members of the CommUniversity Team

The CommUniversity Program recently welcomed three new CommUniversity Assistants, Alyssa, Alex and Lauren.

Alexandra Hunt-Riley is a freshman at the University of Oregon planning to in business. She lives off-campus near Autzen Stadium. The University of Oregon Rowing Club is where her dedication lies, and she is also apart of Greek Life here on campus. Even though her college career has just begun, she has to be very organized with my time, set goals and priorities and also find time to do things I enjoy. She decided to join the CommUniversity Program because the hours were flexible, and it allowed her to really work towards a project that she is passionate about. She loves the fact that CommUniversity is based on how the students and the neighborhood locals come together and find situations or issues they don't approve of and put together a project to make a difference. One project that she feelsshe could really get into is the Housing Fair; which is held by the CommUniversity program. Since she is a freshman living off-campus she understands what students priorities are and is determined provide resources for students that are looking for housing.

Lauren Garetto is a junior Journalism Public Relations major. She is from Medford, Oregon; but now lives in the west university area. She loves being able to live in the neighborhood that she does, and be around the fun college campus environment, so she is really looking forward to educating tenants on how to make their living experiences even better!

Alyssa Mische is a sophomore Marine Biology major and Art minor from Oregon City, OR. She lives between the Downtown, Jefferson, and West Campus neighborhoods. In her free time, Alyssa enjoys watching Food Network, reading, and doing outdoorsy things with friends. As a CommUniversity Assistant, Alyssa hopes to enhance efforts on keeping the university area environmentally friendly and safe for students living off campus and permanent residents of Eugene and bridging the gap between the two communities. She is also focused on helping freshman transition from on-campus to off-campus living.
