New CommUniversity Assistants!

Savanna Puccinelli is a sophomore Environmental Studies major from San Francisco, CA. This year she is living in the West University area. As a CommUniversity Assistant, Savanna is excited about being involved in the Eugene community and connecting students to resources that enhance their off campus living experience.

Joan Kernagis, known to most as Joanie, is most currently from West Linn, but grew up in Chicago. She lives in the South Campus of Eugene in an apartment that is very close to the UO music building. She is a Communication Disorders and Sciences major with a minor in Special Education. Studying these topics, she hopes of becoming a Speech Pathologist. She is excited to be a CA because she wants to get more involved in the community here in Eugene and also form relationships with new people. Joanie is happy to be involved in something that can really make a difference for students as well as community members.

Caitlin Pratt is proudly from the beautiful town of Bend, Oregon. She currently lives in the East Campus neighborhood where she gets to enjoy Hendricks Park and walking her dog along the rows of early 1900-era housing. As a Junior, she’s studying International Studies with a focus on Cross-culture Communication & Education with a minor in Arabic. As a CommUniversity member, she hopes to have a meaningful impact within the community by bridging the cultural gap between off-campus students and the permanent non-student residents of the community. Creating a harmonious community that embraces diversity is essential to the success of every Eugene resident.

Katie Mendiburu
is from Bakersfield, California. She currently lives on campus at the University of Oregon. She’s majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology. Katie became a CommUniversity Assistant to immerse herself in the surrounding communities of the University of Oregon, Eugene and Springfield.
